Ways to Serve

There are many ways for you to serve in the ministries at ShilohCU.

Worship Ministries

"I will enter His gates with thanksgiving: and into His courts with praise." (Psalm 100:4) 

There are opportunities to serve in both the Sunday morning worship services. They include greeters, ushers, praise team members, production volunteers, and instrumental/vocal soloists.

Care Groups

We have discovered that sharing the joy multiplies it and sharing the burden cuts it in half. The leadership team is key to the effectiveness of ministry within the Care Group. This is where you have the opportunity to make a difference. Available positions include the group leader, attendance and follow up coordinator, care giving coordinator, social activities director, and the teacher of the group.

Choir

Our choir ministers during the second Sunday morning worship service. The choir uses music to turn our attention to the Lord before hearing the Word preached and always seeks to lift high the King. Positions that need to filled include choir members, a substitute director, and a substitute pianist.

Van Ministry

We seek to use all our resources for God's glory including the vehicles we've invested in. Our vans provide transportation to special events, conferences, concerts, youth camps, mission projects etc. 

Bible Study

Shiloh offers a variety of mid-week Bible Studies to encourage members to move further in their knowledge and application of God's Word. These groups need teachers to direct their studies.

Church Library

Our library offers a blend of new and old Bible Study Resources, Missionary Biographies, Christian Living Books, Inspirational Novels, Videos and Books for the Kids and much more. Volunteers are needed to classify materials and proof read new materials.

 

Cubby Club/Gopher Buddies

This is our Wednesday Night Kids Club for children ages 2-K. They need teachers, activity directors, music coordinators, craft directors, snack providers, and puppeteers.

 

Kids Programs

As a service to children and parents, childcare, and age-appropriate Bible training are available to children of all ages during morning services and the Sunday school hour. Positions that need to be filled include nursery workers, preschool church leaders, club coordinators, teachers, helpers, junior church volunteers, guest speakers, Summer leaders, and substitute teachers.

Olympian Club

The Olympian Club is for children in grades 1-6. This ministry focuses on Bible storytelling, verse memorization, daily Quiet Times, christian service, and faithful church attendance.

Sports Camp

This is an outreach week of  ministry to the youth in our church and community. It offers opportunity to teach age-appropriate, sport-specific skills while focusing on sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who attend.

Contenders for the Faith

Contenders for the Faith is a boys club for grades K-5 that teaches boys to honor God, build character, be patriotic, and serve others through a variety of activities both indoor and outdoor.

Creative Discipleship

This time is designed to help teens develop "holy habits" (spiritual disciplines) that will help them grow into mature Christians. It also helps to develop leadership skills and to prepare them for team ministry

American Heritage Girls

AHG is the premier scouting organization for girls between the ages of 5 and 18. The program emphasizes life skill enhancement, girl leadership opportunities, developing teamwork, and building confidence through varied outdoor experiences, character development, social development, and spiritual development. 

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:

1. Sponsor a young lady financially for a year

2. Lead or assist a troop unit

Teen Club

A Wednesday Night outreach for our Junior and Senior High teenagers. They enjoy a fun time of Praise and Worship and receive the truth of God's Word. It is an opportunity to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and have fun together in Christ.

Biblical Counseling

Over the past few years several members and staff have been certified by Faith Biblical Counseling with the vision of being able to provide free Counseling to anyone in the church or community seeking Biblical answers.

This is an opportunity to serve families dealing with loss by providing funeral meals.

Reach Up

CCNO (Stryker) Prison Ministry. There are men and women in CCNO who are hungry to find faith in God and to grow. Lives are being changed through this ministry. Required training is held at various times throughout the ministry.

The Open Door

The Open Door is a faith-based community center in Delta. They run a thrift store and have a community outreach that provides for many needs within the community.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE:

1. Receiving, sorting, and pricing items for the thrift store

2. Cashiers

3. Fabric Cutters

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry is a service to those in times of need in our community. It is opened once a month for people to receive food to help them feed their families. It is also available as special needs arise by contacting the church office and making arrangements.

4. Donating money to purchase needed items not donated otherwise

Hands of Grace

Seeking to enhance the quality of life for the frail, the elderly, & people living with disabilities along with their caregivers and families through volunteer outreach & part time adult day care programs.

*Volunteers must complete a 2.5 hour Basic Volunteer Training.

Joining with the Toledo community to serve the underprivileged citizens of Toledo through prayer, evangelism and meeting physical needs on certain Saturdays each month.
